Cubiks / Talogy Practice Tests

Practice the Cubiks Logiks aptitude tests, situational judgement, and PAPI personality inventories. Build the speed and confidence you need before your real assessment.

What is Cubiks?

Logiks aptitude tests

The Logiks General test is Cubiks' best-known product: a rapid mix of verbal, numerical and abstract reasoning. It is a speed test, so working quickly and accurately under pressure is the whole game.

Situational judgement

The Cubiks SJT presents realistic workplace scenarios and asks you to rate how effective each response would be, scored against an expert competency key.

PAPI personality

The Personality and Preference Inventory comes in normative (PAPI-N) and ipsative (PAPI-I) formats, producing a profile across 20 work-relevant trait dimensions.

What Each Test Measures

Logiks Verbal

Speed test

Word analogies, synonyms, antonyms, odd-one-out and sentence completion. Pure language with no reading passages. The skill is fast, accurate word association under tight time pressure.

Logiks Numerical

Speed test

Mental arithmetic, number series, percentages and short word problems. There are no data tables, so the calculations are quick once you spot the right operation. Speed is essential.

Logiks Abstract

Speed test

Complete a 3x3 matrix by working out the underlying pattern in shape, colour, size, direction or position. Modelled on Raven-style matrices, this measures fluid, non-verbal reasoning.

Situational Judgement

Untimed

Realistic workplace scenarios with several possible responses. You rate how effective each response would be, and your ratings are compared with an expert competency key.

PAPI-N (Normative)

Untimed

Rate how strongly you agree with workplace statements on a 1-5 scale. Produces a profile across 20 trait dimensions. There are no right or wrong answers.

PAPI-I (Ipsative)

Untimed

Choose which of two statements is more like you. The forced choice reveals what you prioritise, producing a relative ranking of your work-related traits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which employers use Cubiks tests?

Cubiks (now Talogy) assessments are common at mid-to-large UK employers and graduate schemes across finance, retail, engineering and the public sector. The Logiks General test is the version candidates encounter most often.

Is Logiks General the same as Logiks Advanced?

They share the same three-section structure. The Advanced version has fewer questions but each requires more multi-step reasoning, while the Intermediate version rewards fast recall. Practising the Intermediate format prepares you for both.

How is the Logiks test scored?

Your score is the number of correct answers, compared against a norm group. Because most candidates cannot finish in the time, pacing yourself to attempt as many items as possible is as important as accuracy.

Can you prepare for the PAPI personality tests?

There are no right or wrong answers, so you cannot revise for them. The value of practice is familiarity with the format so you can answer honestly and consistently without second-guessing.

How do I improve my Logiks score?

Drill the underlying skills until they are automatic: mental arithmetic and number series for numerical, word associations for verbal, and matrix pattern spotting for abstract. Then practise under time pressure so speed becomes natural.
