Which platforms does this prepare me for?

If your invitation mentions any of these, you have a one-way video interview: a question appears, you get a short window to think, then you record your answer with no interviewer on the other end. The platforms differ in branding and buttons, but the candidate experience is the same, which is why practising the format carries across all of them.

HireVue

The most widely used one-way video interview platform, common in banking, consulting and large graduate schemes.

Willo

Popular with UK employers and recruitment agencies for early-stage screening.

Modern Hire (formerly Sonru)

Long-established in UK and European graduate recruitment.

Spark Hire

Common with mid-size employers and agencies.

Talview

Used for volume screening across technology and services roles.

Employers write their own questions, so no practice tool can give you the exact ones you will be asked. What practice does fix is the part candidates consistently say throws them: talking to a camera that does not react, keeping an answer structured without an interviewer to prompt you, and not filling silence with “um”.

Who uses interview practice?

Mock interview practice is used by graduates and early-career candidates preparing for roles at employers like KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, Amazon, and Barclays. Most graduate schemes include a competency-based or values-based interview stage where you are expected to answer behavioural questions using the STAR method.

Seeing yourself on camera and hearing AI feedback helps you catch filler words, unclear structure, and low-energy delivery, things that are hard to spot without an external perspective.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this to practise for a HireVue interview?

Yes. A HireVue invitation means a one-way video interview: you are shown a question, given a short window to prepare, then record your answer to camera with no interviewer present. That is exactly the format here. The questions differ because each employer writes their own, but the thing candidates find hardest - speaking to a camera with nobody responding - is what this practises.

Does this work for Willo, Sonru, Modern Hire and other platforms?

Yes. Willo, Modern Hire (formerly Sonru), Spark Hire and Talview all deliver the same one-way recorded format as HireVue. They are delivery platforms rather than assessment publishers, so the employer sets the questions and the platform just records you. Practising the format transfers across all of them regardless of which one your invitation names.

What kind of questions are asked?

The sessions use behavioural interview questions in the STAR format, the same style used by KPMG, Deloitte, Amazon, PwC, and most graduate employers. Examples include "Tell me about a time you worked under pressure" and "Give an example of when you led a team."

How does the AI feedback work?

After you complete all 5 questions, our AI analyses each answer and scores it on clarity (how easy it is to follow), structure (whether you used a logical format), and confidence (tone and pacing). You also receive a written tip for each answer.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The interview runs entirely in your browser. You just need a device with a camera and microphone and a stable internet connection.

When is a session used?

A session is only counted when you submit all 5 answers at the end. If you close the session before submitting, nothing is deducted from your interview access.

Can I re-record an answer?

Yes. After each answer you can review your recording and choose to re-record before moving to the next question.

How much does it cost?

Interview access is a single one-time payment of £10 that unlocks up to 100 full 5-question sessions. There is no subscription and your access never expires, so you can practise whenever you have an interview coming up.
