About Deloitte's Online Assessment

Deloitte's online assessment, often called the "Immersive Online Assessment", combines a game-based psychometric element with traditional aptitude testing. Roughly three days after submitting your application, you are invited to play Cosmic Cadet, a game-based assessment built on the Arctic Shores platform that measures personality traits such as risk perception and innovation. This is followed by numerical reasoning and verbal reasoning tests that assess your analytical ability with data and your comprehension of written information. Deloitte uses the combined results to sift candidates before the interview stages.

Assessment Components

Cosmic Cadet (Arctic Shores)

A space-themed game-based assessment built on Arctic Shores technology. You complete a series of interactive tasks aboard a virtual spacecraft. The tasks measure personality traits, cognitive style, and behavioural patterns including risk perception, problem-solving approach, and learning agility.

Numerical Reasoning

A timed test requiring you to interpret charts, tables, and financial data and answer multiple-choice questions. This component follows a similar format to SHL Verify Numerical Reasoning. Speed and accuracy both matter.

Verbal Reasoning

A timed test presenting written passages followed by statements you must judge as True, False, or Cannot Say. This mirrors the SHL Verify Verbal Reasoning format.

Top Tips

Prepare for both game and aptitude formats

Most candidates focus on one or the other. Deloitte requires both. Practise Arctic Shores game-based tasks and SHL-style numerical and verbal reasoning separately. CogniPrep covers all three components across its Arctic Shores and SHL practice libraries.

Expect the invite quickly

Deloitte sends the Cosmic Cadet invite roughly three days after your application. Have your practice done before you apply so you are not caught off guard by the short turnaround.

Don't try to game the personality section

Cosmic Cadet captures behavioural patterns across many game decisions. Responding consistently and naturally produces a more reliable profile than trying to present an idealized image.

Find a quiet environment

Both the game and the timed aptitude tests require sustained concentration. Interruptions during the numerical or verbal tests eat directly into your limited time.
