Can You Cheat the Alva Labs Logic Test?
Alva locks a result to you for two years and sells employers a supervised re-check of it, so an inflated score is a debt that comes due.
Any employer can send Alva’s validation test, 20 new tasks under the same two-minute rule, usually on site, and receives the two results side by side with cheating first on Alva’s list of reasons for a gap. Your first result is also reused for 24 months, and you cannot retake it for that company yourself.
A result that follows you
Most shortcuts are a gamble on one application. Alva changes the stakes because its results are not tied to an application at all: they are tied to your email address and reused for 24 months. Share a result with a company once and it is sent to that company again, automatically, every time you apply there in that window. You cannot retake the test for that company on your own initiative; only the company can allow it.
So a borrowed score is not a risk you take once. It is the score you carry into every application to that employer for two years, and every one of those is another chance for it to be checked.
The re-check is a product
Alva sells employers a validation test: a supervised second sitting, usually on site, of 20 new tasks under the same two-minute rule. The employer gets both results side by side and Alva’s guidance on how to read a gap, with help from somebody else first on its list of causes. Alva’s own retest data says genuine scores rarely move by more than a point between sittings, so an inflated first result is a gap waiting to be measured.
The one route Alva endorses
Alva is unusually direct about preparation: its fair play policy lists practising on similar tests beforehand as something that does not break its rules. The logic test rewards exactly what practice builds, because it does not score speed at all. Two minutes a task is a limit, not a pace, and most people finish all 20 in 15 to 20 minutes.
What actually moves an Alva result
Naming rules quickly and precisely. Alva’s tasks read along rows and down columns, never diagonally, and rows and columns can follow different rules. The wrong options are built from the grid’s own pieces, so a candidate who predicts the missing square before looking at the options beats one who hunts for a familiar shape.
Then discipline with the clock. Harder tasks count for more, so the test rewards getting a run of tasks right at your level rather than one lucky hard one, and a task left to time out is a certain miss where a guess among six is not.
