Can You Cheat the Master ACE Test?

A borrowed ACE result has to be reproduced at interview, alone and supervised, starting from the level it claimed.

Short answer: no.

ACE Confirm re-tests a high result under supervision at the level you reached, and a failed check means sitting the whole ACE again.

Master does not need to watch you sit ACE at home. A high result can be checked at interview by a short supervised re-test built from questions at the level you reached, and it stops as soon as you show you can hold that level alone.

The defence is a re-test at your own level

Most online tests defeat a shortcut with something about the questions. ACE does that too, but its real answer sits in the procedure after it. The test is usually sat at home, unsupervised. When the result is high, Master recommends that the employer confirms it at interview with ACE Confirm, and to say in the invitation that high results are routinely checked.

ACE Confirm has no fixed answer key to leak, because it is drawn at the level you reached. It is supervised, and it ends as soon as you reproduce your original performance, which for an honest candidate can take four or five minutes. Master reports that it identifies honest candidates with over 99% precision and people who cheated with 87%.

Green
Test result confirmed
You reproduced your level under supervision. Nothing more happens, and your original ACE result stands.
Yellow
New test recommended
You sit the whole ACE again under supervision, and that result replaces your first one.
Red
Test result not confirmed
The level was not reproduced under supervision, so the original result is not confirmed.
Announced in advance
You know it may come
Master advises employers to say in the invitation that high results are confirmed as a matter of routine, so the check is expected rather than a surprise.

There is no paper to leak

ACE is adaptive question by question. A right answer brings a harder question and a wrong answer an easier one, and the numerical, figure and verbal questions come interleaved in one sequence rather than in sections. Your score is the difficulty you sustain, not a count of right answers, so two candidates sitting on the same evening see different questions.

Master also asks every candidate to confirm on an integrity screen that they will answer alone and without AI tools, and it disables right-click and copying on the test pages. The numerical questions ask for a typed whole number rather than a choice from a list, so there is nothing quick to check a half-remembered answer against.

The aids you are allowed are the ones that help

A calculator on ACE is not a shortcut, it is expected. Master says so in as many words, and allows pen and paper as well, including on the supervised ACE Confirm. So the honest preparation is also the most effective: practise working a word problem on paper with a calculator beside you, and find the rounding instruction in the question before you start.

MPA and OPTO show a flattering pattern rather than reward it

The two personality questionnaires have no top score to aim at, and both are built so that answering to impress becomes visible. That is the format working, not an extra check.

MPA
Most and least like you, in groups of four
Every group mixes statements from four different properties.
Each statement is keyed towards one end of its property, so a choice can move a scale either way.
Picking the most flattering line in every group scatters the profile instead of lifting it.
The result is talked through at interview, property by property, with examples.
OPTO
Seven-point ratings, then a re-spread
Your first ratings are what is scored.
Tied ratings in a group have to be spread apart, and every move is recorded.
Moving answers the same way four times or more within one aspect raises a Spotlight.
An interviewer will usually ask about each Spotlight.
Do
Sit ACE the way you would sit ACE Confirm: alone, at a computer, with a calculator, pen and paper.
Answer every ACE question. A skip is scored like a wrong answer and makes the next question easier.
On CORE, skip what has taken two minutes and let the queue bring it back.
Answer MPA and OPTO as you actually are at work on an ordinary day.
Read your own report afterwards. Master says every candidate is entitled to feedback.
Do not
Do not get help at home. A high result can be re-tested at your level, under supervision, at interview.
Do not use AI tools. You confirm on the integrity screen that you will not, and the confirm test is supervised.
Do not sit ACE on a phone. Master says tablets and phones are not supported.
Do not push every OPTO answer in one direction when you re-spread ties. That is exactly what a Spotlight picks up.

What actually moves an ACE result

Because ACE is adaptive, the result is decided at the edge of your ability, where you start to miss. Practice pays off exactly there: knowing that a rounding phrase decides a numerical answer, testing a matrix by rows and columns separately, saying an analogy as a sentence, and drawing a logic grid on paper before you place anything. Then sit a full 12 questions in one go, on the clock. Our Master International practice tests run ACE adaptively with a calculator, and CORE, MPA and OPTO in their real formats.

Frequently asked questions

What is ACE Confirm?

A short, supervised, adaptive re-test used to confirm an ACE result sat unsupervised. It is built from questions at the difficulty you reached and ends as soon as you reproduce your performance: often 4 to 5 minutes, 7 on average and 15 at most. It returns green (confirmed), yellow (new test recommended) or red (not confirmed).

What happens if ACE Confirm comes back yellow or red?

A yellow means sitting the whole ACE again under supervision, and the supervised result replaces your first one. A red means the result was not confirmed. Either way, a result someone else lifted for you does not survive the interview stage.

Is using a calculator on ACE cheating?

No. Master says a calculator is permitted and expected, and pen and paper are allowed too, including on ACE Confirm. What is not allowed is help from another person or an AI tool: before the test you confirm on an integrity screen that you will answer alone and without AI.

Are the answers to the Master ACE test online?

Not in any useful form. ACE is adaptive, so each question is chosen by how you answered the last one and no two candidates see the same sequence. There is no fixed paper whose answers could circulate, and a list from someone else’s sitting answers questions you will not be asked.

Can you fake the MPA or OPTO personality tests?

Not usefully. In MPA every group of four mixes statements from different properties, keyed in both directions, so picking the most flattering line each time scatters your profile rather than improving it. In OPTO your first ratings are scored and the way you re-spread tied answers is recorded, so pushing everything one way raises a Spotlight the interviewer will ask about.

Does practising help, if cheating does not?

Yes. The formats are unusual: typed whole-number answers, logic grids, a skip that counts as a wrong answer, and a matrix test that lets you skip and come back. Knowing those rules before the day, and having a calculator and paper ready, changes a result on its own.

Master International (ACE, CORE, MPA, OPTO) practice tests

Master International, also trading as Master Value People and Metis, is a Danish publisher whose tests run on the Master People Platform (MPP). ACE, the Adjustable Competence Evaluation, is an adaptive reasoning test (12 questions in 30 minutes, calculator allowed, skips count as wrong) that can be checked later by a supervised ACE Confirm re-test; MCA is its older name. CORE, the Cognitive Resource Evaluation, is a 19-item matrix screen with skip and return. MPA, the Master Person Analysis, is a best-and-least personality questionnaire, and OPTO is a seven-point personality questionnaire with a Spotlight re-ranking step. BRIGHT screens service roles and EASI is a team typology. Results come back as STEN scores from 1 to 10 against a band the employer set. Mainly Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, on a laptop or desktop.
