Matrigma and Assessio Practice Tests
Assessio is a Stockholm publisher best known for Matrigma and MAP. Its Dutch arm was called eelloo until January 2024. Practise all five tests with the real item counts, the real clocks and the scoring scale Assessio actually reports.

Premium Tests
Classic Matrigma
The older fixed form: thirty-five matrix items in one generous forty-minute sitting, where difficulty rather than the clock is what stops you. Only thirty of the thirty-five count toward your score, exactly as in the real test.
MAP (Personality)
Assessio’s Five Factor personality questionnaire, reported across five factors and twenty-five facets. Untimed, with no right answers and nothing to beat. Assessio’s own Extremes model treats both ends of a scale as a risk, so a moderate profile is not a weak one.
Match-V (Values)
Eighty-five items placing your work values on Schwartz’s nine dimensions in four opposing domains. Reported as culture fit against an employer’s profile rather than as a score, so there is no good or bad set of values here.
Q1000 Capaciteiten
The Dutch Assessio Bloom capacity battery, sold as eelloo until 2024: four timed subtests back to back, each question on its own clock of twenty-five to seventy seconds, with no going back. Diagrammen gives you twenty-five seconds a question, the tightest budget of any test on this site.
Invited by eelloo, Meurs HRM or Q1000? You are in the right place
Verified September 2026eelloo is now Assessio Bloom. The Dutch company renamed in January 2024 and eelloo.nl redirects to assessiobloom.com. Before September 2016 it was Meurs HRM. Assessio owns all of it, and the tests themselves did not change when the names did.
Names that lead here: Matrigma, Adaptive and Classic Matrigma, MAP and its variants, Extremes, Match-V, Assessio Platform, Ascend by Assessio, Assessio Bloom, eelloo, Meurs HRM, HFMtalentindex and the Q1000 range.
One warning:"MAP" on its own is ambiguous, because Aon cut-e sells a separate questionnaire called mapTQ. If your invitation also mentions scales, smartPredict or cut-e, read the Aon hub instead.
Assessio does not give you a percentile. It gives you a number out of ten
The C-score, 0 to 10
Both Matrigma technical manuals say the same thing: results are displayed as C-scores from 0 to 10, with a mean of 5 and a standard deviation of 2. So 5 is the middle of the population and roughly two thirds of people sit between 3 and 7. General psychometric reference material defines the C-scale with a midpoint of 5.5, but for anything Assessio, Assessio's own definition governs.
The bands differ per version
This is not a source conflict, it is a product difference, and it is easy to get wrong. Classic: 0 to 2 Below average, 3 to 6 Average, 7 to 10 Above average. Adaptive: 0 to 3 Low, 4 to 6 Moderate, 7 to 10 High, with about 23% of candidates in each outer band. Check which version you sat before you interpret a number.
You may be shown one word, or nothing
Two reports come out of a Matrigma sitting. The administrator gets an Interpretive Report with the C-score, the level and an interpretation. You get a "Your Result" feedback report showing the level as a single phrase, and only if the administrator enabled it. Assessio also tells users to treat a C-score as carrying about plus or minus one point of measurement error.
Our own feedback reports a percentile, because that is what our practice population supports, and then translates it into the C-score band you would be told. The translation is a guide to the vocabulary, not a prediction: our population is not Assessio's norm group. What it does mean is that when somebody tells you your C-score was a 6, you will already know what that is.
The five tests, and what each one actually does
Adaptive Matrigma
12 minutes overall AND a separate 60-second clock on every item, both running at once. A 3x3 matrix with eight figures and six answer options, of which one is correct. Difficulty follows your answers. Because of the two clocks you see at least 12 items and rarely more than about 20, and the maximum pool is 40. Assessio calls this the most common version.
Classic Matrigma
35 items in one 40-minute sitting, no per-item clock, difficulty fixed and ordered easy to hard. Only 30 of the 35 are scored. Five parallel forms exist, A to E. Assessio calls 40 minutes a fairly generous allowance, so the constraint here is difficulty rather than the clock, which is the opposite of the adaptive version.
MAP
200 statements across five factors and twenty-five facets, untimed, reported per dimension against a norm. Sources give the duration as anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes, and both figures come from Assessio. Assessio does not publish the exact rating scale, so our simulation uses the five-point agreement scale standard for Five Factor questionnaires and says so.
Match-V
85 items, about 10 to 15 minutes, placing you on nine Schwartz values in four higher-order domains: Self-Enhancement, Self-Direction, Self-Transcendence and Self-Restraint. The domains oppose each other in pairs. Reported as alignment with an organisation’s culture rather than as a score, so there is nothing here to be good at.
Q1000 Capaciteiten
The Dutch battery, 4 to 7 subtests depending on level. Every question has its own clock shown as a progress bar: 25 seconds on Diagrammen, 50 on Analogieën, 70 on Cijferreeksen, 60 on Figuurreeksen. Unused seconds do not carry over, each answer is final, no calculator. Cijferreeksen asks for the last two numbers of a series, not one.
The scoring rule that applies to all of them
Nothing Assessio sells deducts marks for a wrong answer, and nothing rewards speed. The Matrigma manual states outright that the speed of answering does not impact the final score, and the Q1000 rule is that only the number of correct answers counts. So a blank is a certain zero, a guess is not, and spare seconds are worth spending on accuracy.
Where you will actually meet this, and at which stage
This is a Nordic and Dutch provider, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Assessio is based in Stockholm. Its Classic Matrigma norm group was majority Swedish-instruction with Norwegian, English and Finnish minorities, and it has a Norwegian legal entity. On the Dutch side it made two acquisitions in two years, runs Assessio Bloom as a dedicated brand with Dutch-language products and COTAN ratings, and reports 1,800 Dutch clients with 1.4 million tests administered in 2022.
We could not evidence meaningful UK or US prevalence, and Matrigma is positioned as the cognitive option outside the United States rather than inside it. If you are applying in the UK or the US and your invitation does not name one of the products above, it is more likely to be SHL, Aon or Criteria. Our provider lookup guide turns a product name into a vendor.
The pipeline stage is unusual: it is used at both ends. Transdev used Assessio in the first step to screen every applicant for train driver roles. EIT InnoEnergy uses it at shortlist, when seven or eight candidates are left. MAP Essence is explicitly designed for early screening in high-volume hiring. So you may meet Assessio immediately after applying or just before final interviews, and the invitation rarely tells you which.
Other Assessio products, and one thing worth knowing about devices
The real Matrigma expects a laptop
Assessio’s own manual says the test "was optimized for desktop users, and therefore we recommend using a laptop or PC", and warns against a small-screen device such as a phone or tablet. Our simulation works properly on a phone because revising on a train is a real thing people do, but sit the real one on a computer, and treat a phone practice result as practice rather than as a comparable score.
MAP Essence and MAP-E (Service and Integrity Screening)
Real, sold, and something you can be invited to by name. It is a short form of MAP, reported as 75 items and roughly 15 minutes by Assessio’s help centre and as twelve minutes by its own product sheet, with integrity and service scores computed from personality scales on top. We do not ship it as a separate test because it is a subset of MAP’s items: practising MAP covers it. Worth knowing: every candidate who completes MAP Essence gets a five-factor feedback report.
MAP-X / Extremes, Learning Agility, SAI, Leadership Feedback
These are reports rather than sittings. MAP-X is calculated from a single MAP administration, Learning Agility is derived from MAP plus Match-V, and Leadership Feedback is a multi-rater instrument. There is nothing extra to sit and nothing extra to practise. MAP-X is still worth understanding, because it names ten bidirectional pairs (Withdrawn / Attention Seeking, Insensitive / Overcaring, Impulsive / Rigid, Emotional / Unresponsive, Conformist / Eccentric) and flags both ends as a risk.
The rest of the Dutch Q1000 range
Q1000 Persoonlijkheid comes in normative (QPN), ipsative (QPI) and multimedia (QPM) forms and is untimed. Q1000 Nauwkeurigheid is an accuracy test and is the exception to the per-item clock rule: it runs on one overall clock instead. Assessio Bloom also sells a large development catalogue (Drijfveren, Rollen, Vaardigheden, GRIPmeter, Inclusiescan and others) that is not used for selection. We do not simulate these; they are listed so you know what the names are.
Frequently Asked Questions
I was invited by eelloo. Is that the same as Assessio?
Yes. eelloo changed its name to Assessio Bloom in January 2024, and eelloo.nl now redirects to assessiobloom.com. Before 2016 the same company was called Meurs HRM. Assessio, the Swedish publisher, bought eelloo in October 2021. The Q1000 tests sold under all of those names are the same tests, so practising the Q1000 Capaciteiten battery here is the right preparation whichever name your invitation used.
What is a C-score, and what is a good one?
Assessio does not report a percentile. It reports a C-score, an integer from 0 to 10 with a mean of 5 and a standard deviation of 2, so 5 is the middle of the population. The band labels differ between the two Matrigma versions, which trips people up: the 2017 Classic manual bands 0 to 2 as Below average, 3 to 6 as Average and 7 to 10 as Above average, while the 2026 Adaptive manual bands 0 to 3 as Low, 4 to 6 as Moderate and 7 to 10 as High, and places about 23% of candidates in each of the outer bands. Assessio also tells its users to treat a C-score as carrying roughly plus or minus one point of measurement error rather than as an absolute truth.
How long is the Matrigma test?
The adaptive version is 12 minutes overall, and every individual item also has its own 60-second limit. Both clocks run at once, which fixes the number of items you see: 12 minutes at 60 seconds a head means you are shown at least 12 items, and the maximum available is 40, which Assessio itself calls extremely unlikely to be reached. The Classic version is the opposite shape: 35 items with one 40-minute clock and no per-item limit, which Assessio describes as a fairly generous allowance.
Is there a penalty for a wrong answer on Matrigma?
No. Items are equally weighted with each correct answer contributing and nothing deducted for a wrong one, and multiple independent guides say so explicitly. That makes an unanswered item a certain zero and a guess among six options a one-in-six chance, so you should always answer before the clock expires. Note this is the opposite of Aon cut-e, which does deduct a mark for a wrong answer, so do not carry habits across.
Does answering faster improve a Matrigma score?
No, and this is the most counter-intuitive fact about the test. The Adaptive Matrigma manual states that the speed of answering does not impact the final score. The 60-second clock exists to cap how long you can spend, not to reward finishing early. So if you are averaging 20 seconds an item you are leaving accuracy on the table: checking one more option before you commit can move you up a difficulty band, and answering faster does nothing at all.
How many items does Classic Matrigma actually score?
Thirty of the thirty-five. Assessio’s 2017 technical manual records respondents completing a form plus five additional items for a total of 35, of which only 30 were scored and used to interpret the results. You are not told which five, so an item that looks unlike the others may simply not count, and it is never worth panicking over. There are five parallel forms, A to E.
Is Matrigma owned by Hogan?
Assessio publishes it, and publishes its technical manual under its own copyright dated 2026. Some third-party prep sites describe Matrigma as distributed by, or even owned by, Hogan Assessment Systems, with Matrigma serving as Hogan’s cognitive offering outside the United States. Hogan’s own current cognitive assessments page does not mention Matrigma at all and lists only Hogan Judgment and the HBRI. So a distribution relationship is real history, but its current status is unevidenced, and we do not claim an ownership transfer. If you were invited through a Hogan-affiliated consultancy you may still be sitting Assessio’s test.
What is the Q1000 Capaciteiten test like?
It is a battery of four to seven subtests depending on level, run back to back, and its defining feature is that every individual question has its own clock shown as a progress bar at the top. The academic-level form (Hoog, QCHV) has four: Diagrammen at 25 seconds a question, Analogieën at 50, Cijferreeksen at 70 and Figuurreeksen at 60. Unused seconds do not carry over, each answer is final once you proceed, and there is no going back. Nothing is deducted for a wrong answer and a blank counts as wrong, so guessing always beats running out of time.
Do I need a calculator for the Q1000 tests?
No, and you are not allowed one. The arithmetic in the Q1000 range is designed to be done without a calculator. The number series subtest, Cijferreeksen, also has a detail worth knowing in advance: you supply the last two numbers of the series, not one.
Can you fail the MAP or Match-V questionnaires?
No, and trying to score well on them tends to backfire. MAP is a Five Factor profile reported across five factors and twenty-five facets, and Assessio says in its own words that there is no such thing as the right personality and no advantage in being dishonest. Its own derived report, MAP-X, flags scores at either extreme of a factor as a risk of overuse or underuse, so a profile of moderate positions is not a weak one. Match-V measures values and is matched against an employer’s culture, so a weak match at one employer says nothing about your fit anywhere else.
Where is Assessio actually used?
Sweden and the Nordics first, by origin: Assessio is based in Stockholm and its Classic Matrigma norm group was majority Swedish-instruction with Norwegian and Finnish minorities. The Netherlands second and substantially, by acquisition: it bought HFMtalentindex in 2019 and eelloo in 2021, runs a dedicated Dutch brand in Assessio Bloom, holds COTAN ratings, and reports 1,800 Dutch clients and 1.4 million tests administered in 2022 on the Dutch side alone. We cannot evidence meaningful UK or US prevalence and do not claim any.
Companies That Use Assessio
Assessio is a Stockholm publisher whose assessments are used across Scandinavian hiring, and, since it acquired HFMtalentindex in 2019 and eelloo in 2021, across Dutch hiring too. Candidates meet it at both ends of a pipeline: as a first-step sift on every applicant, and at final shortlist with a handful of people left.
EIT InnoEnergy
Energy & InnovationUses a personality and intelligence test at shortlist stage, with roughly seven or eight candidates left, and gives every candidate a feedback session on the results including those it rejects.
Transdev
TransportUsed in the first step to screen all applicants for train driver roles on the Swedish Roslagsbanan line, with psychometric job profiles wired into the applicant tracking system.
Randstad
Recruitment & StaffingAppears on Assessio’s own customer cases page, and independently in the client list published when Assessio acquired eelloo in 2021.
Eneco
EnergyAssessed all 600 of its managers for learning agility. This is internal development rather than candidate selection, so it is not evidence of an Assessio stage in Eneco’s hiring.
Assessio publishes case studies that name the employer but not the test, so the entries below record that the employer uses Assessio rather than which of its instruments. Confirm the specific product with your recruiter. Its Dutch arm trades as Assessio Bloom and was called eelloo until January 2024.
Practice by Test Type
Compare the same format across every provider that uses it, and see what each one is really measuring.
Numerical Reasoning Test Practice
Tables, charts, percentages and ratios against the clock. The most common screening test on graduate schemes and analyst roles.
Verbal Reasoning Test Practice
Short dense passages and true, false or cannot say answers. Judged on what the text supports, never on what you already know.
Logical Reasoning Test Practice
Shapes, sequences and flowcharts instead of words or numbers. Inductive, deductive, abstract, diagrammatic and spatial in one place.
Personality Test Practice for Job Applications
No right answers, which is exactly why they unsettle people. Learn the traits, the consistency checks and the formats before you sit one for real.
