What Kwink Groep uses

Kwink Groep is a Dutch public-sector consultancy in The Hague, working on policy evaluation and research for government clients. TestGroup publishes a client case naming Kwink Groep as a user of the Bridge Ability Suite in recruitment and selection since 2017, quoting Janine Mulder, Director and Advisor.

This is the only one of TestGroup's published client cases built on the ability tests rather than on the personality questionnaire, which makes it the most useful one for anyone preparing. If you are applying to Kwink Groep, the capaciteitentest is the thing to practise.

The Bridge Ability Suite, subtest by subtest

Three separate subtests, each 25 questions in 17 minuteson a single clock. TestGroup's product pages say "3 maal 18 minuten"; the candidate manuals say 17. The most likely reading is 17 minutes of test time inside an 18-minute block that includes the instruction screen.

  • Bridge Verbaal. A fragment of a company annual report, then statements to judge Goed, Onjuist or Niet te beoordelen. That third option is True/False/Cannot Say under a clearer name: it means the text does not let you judge.
  • Bridge Numeriek.Dense multi-column business tables with five options, the fifth of which is always "Geen van alle". A calculator is allowed per the English manual.
  • Bridge Abstract. Not a matrix test. Worked examples show what each operator key does to a figure, and the question asks which key turned a start figure into an end figure. You infer the rule backwards.

Each subtest opens with three practice questions you can repeat as often as you like, and the clock does not start until you begin the test itself. On screen you get two timer elements: a clock showing time remaining and a bar showing the percentage of your time already used.

Three things that decide a capaciteitentest score

You are not expected to finish

Forty-one seconds a question, including reading the passage or the table, is not enough and is not meant to be. TestGroup says the tests are built so that "vrijwel niemand" completes them in the time and that not answering everything is not always a bad sign. Setting out to finish is how people lose the questions they could have had.

You can skip and come back, and you should

The manual is explicit that you may skip a question and return to it after answering the others. That makes triage the real skill: recognising within a few seconds that a question will be expensive, leaving it, and picking up the cheap ones first. Very few timed papers allow this and most candidates do not use it.

Guessing costs you on a score you have not heard of

Nothing is deducted from your Totaalscore for a wrong answer, which is usually read as permission to guess at everything. A Bridge report carries four scores though, and the second is Efficiëntie, your result corrected for guessing. A blank costs nothing there and a wrong answer does, and both numbers go to the employer. TestGroup's advice is one sentence: guess sparingly.

How your result is reported

As a sten from 1 to 10 against a norm group of 500 people at your education level, which the employer selects as mbo, hbo or wo when ordering. For a consultancy role at Kwink Groep that will be wo. There is no published pass mark and no overall percentile; the report shows Totaalscore, Efficiëntie, Accuraatheid and Snelheid, where Snelheid means how many questions you reached rather than how fast you answered them.

The scale has a midpoint of 5.5, so a 5 is not a fail. TestGroup says so in its own report: it is the score most people get.

Practise the exact tests

Our TestGroup practice hub covers all three Bridge Ability Suite subtests at their real 17-minute clocks, with the skip-and-return navigation, the clock and percentage bar, and the three repeatable practice questions. Bridge Verbaal is free. A Kwink Groep assessment will very probably be in Dutch while our practice is in English, and the hub page sets out exactly what transfers and what does not.

CogniPrep is an independent practice platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Kwink Groep, TestGroup or any other employer or assessment provider.
