Eversheds Sutherland Assessment Practice
Preparation guide for Eversheds Sutherland's assessment process, covering what the evidence shows and what it does not
What the evidence actually shows
Eversheds Sutherland is one of the largest international law firms operating out of the UK, and it appears as a named customer in Test Partnership's own published testimonials, attributed to Catherine Knight, Senior Talent Manager. That testimonial sits on Test Partnership's critical thinking product page.
What it does not tell you is which test. The testimonial names no product, and law firms using Test Partnership could plausibly be using the Concepts critical thinking battery, the Insights reasoning suite, the Perceptions situational judgement test or the TPAQ personality questionnaire. Prepare across the reasoning formats rather than betting on one, and confirm with the graduate recruitment team if the invitation is unclear.

Top Tips
Practise critical thinking as four separate skills
Test Partnership's Concepts battery is four item types in one sitting, each with its own response scale: constraint deduction, conclusion evaluation, argument strength on six points, and inference on five. Law firms are the natural market for it. The one candidates find hardest is argument strength, because it asks how strong an argument is rather than whether you agree with it.
Get used to the question-set clock
On the Insights numerical and verbal tests the three-minute budget covers a whole question set rather than one question. Reading the passage once, properly, before looking at any of the four statements is the habit that protects the last two.
Do not confuse this with Watson Glaser
Plenty of law firms use the Watson Glaser critical thinking appraisal, and it is a different instrument with different scales. If your invitation names Concepts or Insights, practise this one; if it names Watson Glaser or TalentLens, practise that one instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Eversheds Sutherland use Test Partnership?
Test Partnership names Eversheds Sutherland as a customer in an attributed testimonial from its Senior Talent Manager, published on its own site. That is the provider saying so rather than the firm, it is undated, and it names no specific test. Treat it as reported rather than confirmed and check your invitation email.
Which Test Partnership test will I sit?
The evidence does not say. Test Partnership's range for a firm like this would plausibly include the Concepts critical thinking test, the Insights reasoning suite and the Perceptions situational judgement test. The invitation email names the product, so read it before you decide what to practise.
Is there negative marking?
Not on any Test Partnership test. Their own candidate instructions tell you to use your best guess rather than leave a question, so an expiry is a guaranteed zero where a guess is not.
